Abbot Cedric was mentioned by Methuselah, the Recorder, as the Abbot who led Redwall immediately before Abbot Mortimer.

While in the Redwall saga books, Cedric's species is never stated, he appears as a mouse in The Lost Legends of Redwall video games.
Cedric appears as the guide for the mouse protagonist in AbbeyCraft. In The Flowers of Icetor, Cedric welcomes protagonist Aven to Redwall, and sends him on a quest to find the Flowers of Icetor. Cedric succumbs to Dryditch Fever as the cure for Mossflower Woods was developed.
