While in the Redwall saga books, Cedric's species is never stated, he appears as a mouse in The Lost Legends of Redwall video games.
Cedric appears as the guide for the mouse protagonist in Redwall AbbeyCraft: The Corsair's Last Treasure. In The Flowers of Icetor, Cedric welcomes protagonist Aven to Redwall, and sends him on a quest to find the Flowers of Icetor. Cedric succumbs to Dryditch Fever as the cure for Mossflower Woods was developed.
