Anaconda was the steersman of the La Petite Marie, and the best friend of Captain Raphael Thuron. He was a gentle giant of a man with black skin, a deep voice, and a shaved head.
Anaconda and Thuron met while on a corsair ship in the Indian Ocean, where Anaconda was presumably a slave. After the pair escaped near Madagascar, Anaconda committed himself to Thuron's service for life, only asking to be his steersman. Along with Pierre, Anaconda was a crewmember continually loyal to Thuron.
While fixing the rudder of the Marie with Ben, Anaconda cut his hand and bled profusely into the water. The blood attracted sharks, which attacked Anaconda and killed him.
