Lord Asheye, originally named Ferlon, was a silver-furred male Badger Lord of Salamandastron. He was the brother of Tabura Melutar. As a youth, Ferlon was prone to a savage Bloodwrath and quite destructive in battle. Eventually, his gray eyes were blinded from his rampages, in a similar manner to Cregga Rose Eyes. Asheye's greatest companion was Major Mullein Braggwuth Barshaw, although he treated all of the hares under his command equally.
He received dreams from Lord Brocktree, Sunflash the Mace, Boar the Fighter, and Urthstripe the Strong, warning of coming danger to Redwall Abbey and indicating the marks of his successor, Gorath the Flame.
Later, he appeared in a dream to Gorath and Salixa as an astral projection.
Twelve seasons after Gorath's arrival at Salamandastron, Asheye decided to live out his seasons at Redwall Abbey with Melutar. It is presumed he stayed there until his death.
