Binta was a female fox jailer member of the horde of Vilaya, and the mate of Thwip. She had a limp and used a yew cane to help her walk. She also used it to beat their young prisoners. When a landslide knocked in part of the roof of the prison cavern, instead of trying to dig through it, she and Thwip deserted their post and ran off into Mossflower Woods. They were pursued by Zwilt the Shade, but were never caught. The two foxes stumbled upon Flibber, one of their former captives. The shrew killed Thwip and badly beat Binta, but the vixen managed to escape and was never heard from again.

- Unlike most vermin couples, Binta and Thwip seemed to have some affection for each other, as the vixen mourned when her mate was slain.
