Bolo Scrimpaw was a male stoat resident of Mossflower Woods, the son of Valo Scrimpaw and Lyra and the brother of Mila Scrimpaw. He corresponded with Chickenhound.
After Cheesethief and his crew entered Mossflower Woods, Bolo struck a deal with the rat in an effort to get his father captured. He had a negative opinion of Redwall Abbey and its creatures, possibly influenced by an incomplete knowledge of the tale of Veil Sixclaw.
Official Description[]
Bolo is the eldest son of Valo Scrimpaw and an apprentice in the healing arts his family has practiced for generations. He is a competent student and works diligently, but unlike his father, he is a moody and choleric creature - although Valo claims Bolo's poor attitude is simple the result of a "teenage phase," to Bolo's distaste. Bolo wishes his father would just take the time to understand him, but Valo is, instead, overwhelmed by Bolo's emotional intensity.
Bolo respects his father, but the two are not close, and he misses his mother who died of sickness several seasons before - a loss and a medical failure that both Bolo and Valo feel sharply even today. He loves his little sister, Mila, dearly though his constant mocking of her might suggest otherwise.
