Brockhall was the ancestral home of the Brock family, located in northeastern Mossflower Woods. It was once used as a meeting place and refuge for the Corim, and later abandoned when Redwall Abbey was built. It eventually became a nest for Zassaliss, Sesstra, Harssacss, and Berussca. While the adders were living there, Brockhall was rediscovered by King Sarengo , who found an old map detailing its location. It was lost again for a short time when Sarengo and Berussca both were killed, then rediscovered a second time, accidentally, by the Dibbuns Bikkle and Ruggum. After the remaining adders were slain, Brockhall was explored for anything of historical value to add to the Abbey archives, then once more abandoned and forgotten.

It included small sitting rooms, a small infirmary, a nursery, a study, a master bedroom, dormitories, a kitchen, a larder, storerooms and a large main hall. Brockhall is most likely named for Lady Sable Brock.

Later, the Sable Quean Vilaya and her Ravagers commandeered Brockhall and called the place Althier, an anagram for "The Lair". Only a few trusted guards, jailers Thwip and Binta, Zwilt the Shade, and Vilaya's loyal counselor Dirva ever knew its location. Vilaya kept kidnapped young ones there in a dark old cave with mossy ledges for sleeping. The Redwallers rediscovered Althier when Axtel Sturnclaw accidentally dug into it during one of his travels. By this time water erosion had caused a large cave and lake system to open up connected to the main caves of what had once been Brockhall, and this became home to a massive blind eel. The young ones used this cave system to escape. After the events of The Sable Quean, Althier was once more deserted and has not been mentioned since.
