Redwall Wiki | Brian Jacques and Redwall Information

Bungo was a mischievous male mole Dibbun ringleader at Redwall Abbey, and the friend of Tubspike. He also had a mother and a little sister whose names are unknown.

Not to be confused with Bungo.

The Great Redwall Feast[]

Bungo scared everyone, especially his mother, when he disappeared during the feast preparation. Everyone thought he had fallen in the deeper'n'ever pie, but he was actually in a plum pie, which he enjoyed so much he didn't want to get out. Bungo performed other little pranks and later told the Father Abbot that he did the work all by himself.

A Redwall Winter's Tale[]

Bungo and his best friend Tubspike had been sent to welcome the Traveling Thistledown Troupe for the feast of Autumn's final day, and liked their performance so much that they did not want to go to bed. Fortunately, one of the performers, Bulbrock Broadstripe, told the Dibbuns the story of the Snow Badger who requires everyone to sleep so that he can cover everything outside with snow. Bungo fell asleep dreaming of stealing pies and throwing snowballs at the other Abbey dwellers.

When he woke up before the other Dibbuns, Bungo opened the windows of the dormitory just as the Snow Badger was frosting the window panes. Bungo talked with the Snow Badger, who was very fond of the small mole. The other Abbey dwellers did not believe that Bungo had met the Snow Badger until Bulbrock told them he had also met him in his childhood. Bulbrock revealed the pouch both he and Bungo had received containing an ice crystal from the Snow Badger, along with a parchment containing a riddle, which he and Father Abbot helped solve. Bungo and Tubspike found the Abbey and its surroundings covered with snow and went to play winter games with the other Abbey residents and their guests.

The Redwall Cookbook[]

Bungo and his fellow Dibbuns invade the Abbey Kitchen as Friar Hugo and Sister Pansy prepare a feast, demanding the Abbot's Special Abbey Trifle. Skipper attempts to clear the crew out of the way, however other Abbey dwellers join them to watch the kitchen workers.

Later, Bungo developed a recipe for nuts with Durdlum called "Dibbun's Delight." Bungo would always think about the food from the Abbey Wintersnow Ball until he was old.
