Crinktail was a female stoat member of Burrad's band and a talented cook. She was the mate of Flinky. She and Flinky seemed to actually be fond of each other, which is rare for vermin. Her tail was bent into a Z-shape, which gave her her name.
Crinktail and Flinky were sent to find recruits for Badredd's feeble attempt to take Redwall Abbey, but they both were taken captive by Raga Bol. She later escaped from Redwall with the rest of the group with Flinky as the new leader of the gang.
