Dryditch Fever was a deadly illness that would cause those afflicted with it to become physically weak and confined to a bed, eventually succumbing to death. Its symptoms included hot flashes, chills, and dizziness. The only known cure is the Flowers of Icetor boiled in spring water.
The disease arose in Mossflower Country during the time of Abbess Vale. Dryditch Fever's patient zero was Thura, a former Corpsemaker who was residing at Redwall Abbey with his fellow deserter, Dingeye. Thura died shortly after leaving Redwall, and the disease soon spread to the Abbey denizens.
Many Redwallers became ill and several died before the cure was located in the Northlands and brought to the Abbey by Thrugg and Dumble, with the aid of the Wild King MacPhearsome.
The only Abbey residents not to be afflicted with Dryditch Fever were Thrugann, Tudd Spinney, and Faith Spinney, in addition to Furgle Woodvole the Hermit.
