First Heard was a broadcast made by Brian Jacques on BBC Radio Merseyside circa 1976-1977. It is his first known program on the radio station.

On October 13, 1977, First Heard was nominated for the 1977 Imperial Tobacco Awards for Radio. The winners were announced in London on November 8, 1977, by Lord Briggs, at an event hosted by Frank Muir. First Heard was shortlisted in the "TALKS: prepared and/or scripted" category.
