Friar Bellows was a tubby mouse who worked in the Kitchen of Redwall Abbey. He was a meticulous and expert cook and taught Samkim and Arula how to make a Great Hall cake. He was the second creature to find Brother Hal's body and mistakenly assumed that Samkim had killed the mouse. During the Summer of the Lazy Trout, Friar Bellows was afflicted with Dryditch Fever. His trademark was his tic, to exclaim "Good, good." at all possible occasions.
