Gurchen was a young female mole who was captured by the Ravagers and taken to Althier. Along with Guffy and Flib, she helped dig a tunnel out of their underground prison. It collapsed, but they were rescued by Axtel Sturnclaw, who took them to stay with a kind old vole, Mumzy. Gurchen was later taken to Redwall Abbey.
