The Nightwake was a ship in Gabool the Wild's fleet. At one point, it needed careening and re-caulking, and after being fixed, it was placed under the command of Riptung. He, along with many of the other captains, was charged with hunting down Greypatch and the Darkqueen.
They were unsuccessful, and returned to Terramort in time for the final battle there. After Riptung's death, Dandin took the helm as captain and renamed it after Abbot Bernard. It was dismantled to build a bridge across the ford and construct the Bell Tower in Redwall Abbey.
