Ranzo was a Terramort searat and a member of Greypatch's crew. He was part of a group of rats that went foraging for food and captured Pakatugg Treefleet. When the rats were attacking Redwall Abbey with fire-swingers, the trio of hares, Colonel Clary, Hon Rosie, and Brigadier Thyme arrived there. He was the first to be killed with the longbows that the hares had built.
