The Scroll of Inheritance was an alleged will written by Lord Verdauga Greeneyes that deemed his son Gingivere Greeneyes as his true heir over Tsarmina Greeneyes.
After overhearing guards discuss the Scroll's existence while in Kotir's prison, Martin the Warrior believed that revealing it to the Thousand Eye Army could put a quick end to the Great Mossflower War by inspiring them to abandon Tsarmina.
Verdauga hid it beneath Kotir inside a treasure chest, along with an amulet.
Gillig attempted to retrieve it from Kotir, however it was lost as The Gloomer pursued him.
Seasons later, the Scroll of Inheritance came into possession of Redwall Abbey residents. At some point, someone added a riddle to the back of the scroll which revealed a secret entrance into Kotir, indicating a security risk for the Abbey. The Gingivera Clan believed as descendants of Gingivere, the scroll belonged to them.
