Springald was a young female mouse Recorder of Redwall Abbey. She was friends with Horty and Fenna. Springald ran the Wall Race which she had previously won, but lost against Sarobando. She went adventuring with Bragoon, Sarobando, and her friends to find Loamhedge Abbey, which was rumored to hold the secret that Martha needed in order to walk.
Springald returned to Redwall having matured, and assumed the role of Recorder.
