Does Pakatugg count as a grey character or just a jerk? He was pretty darned nasty to Mariel, though he did redeem himself in the famous last stand with the Long Patrol. - I don't think attacking vermin can be said to make him 100% good. Other vermin attack vermin. He was only in with the Long Patrol to get benefits for himself - he extorted food from them, and he was outright abusive to Mariel. I would say he redeemed himself by not running away in the battle against the rats with Clary, Thyme and Rosie. If he was totally selfish he'd have run, and personally I wouldn't have blamed him for doing so. But that doesn't mean we can totally disregard everything else he did. --23:03, 16 November 2008 (UTC)LaburnumLaburnum
I think he should have died a painful and long death, his clueless friends should have witnessed it. He really does belong in the vermin category, noted as Gabool's right paw. Wait, no, vermin are bad beasts, Pakatugg was a terrible one. I wish he went to Hellgates!

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS NOT INSULTED PAKATUGG? Really, he was a good guy...
Besides, he sacrificed his life to kill the searats, and he didn't do anything outrightly evil, like Tugga Bruster. He was abusive to Mariel due to his short temper and Mariel's rebellious nature. He was just scared of his home being discovered. Mewtworules 14:55, December 19, 2011 (UTC)Felazar Raxiz
Should be a grey character, cause he was a bad woodlander.
How 'bout this? We can make him a grey character and a hero, like Blaggut.--Alderjack the Treescamp (talk) 03:00, March 22, 2015 (UTC)
- Blaggut wasn't a hero. He was miscategorized and this has now been corrected. Pakatugg is not grey. -- LordTBT Talk! 15:37, March 22, 2015 (UTC)
On page 158 (beginning of chapter 18) of my copy of Mariel, which is the ACE Fantasy paperback, Pakatugg is also described as a "hedgehog pathfinder". TessHare of sun and rain 16:44, November 23, 2015 (UTC)
