Urso Brunov and the White Emperor is the 2008 sequel to The Tale of Urso Brunov: Little Father of All Bears.

Summary[]

It's the middle of winter, and Urso Bruno and his bears are hibernating in their tree home. The night Wind awakens Urso, and the Moon alerts him that two of his bears are missing and being held captive by wolves. The Wind and Moon guide Urso to his bears, along with two polar bears, who are surrounded by a pack of wolves.

Urso scares the wolves away, and learns that the polar bears, Princess Arctura and Prince Bublo, are from the Land of Rainbow Lights across the sea. A piece of ice broke off and swept them far from their home. Urso promised that he and his two bears would escort them back.

The Little Father called his boar friend Snurff and his herd, and they made a path through the winter snow for the travelers. He then called on Hamul, the stag chieftain, to carry them through the path and to the sea.

Days later, the group arrived at the coastline. Urso found his friend Rumool, King of Whales and Oceans. Rumool broke off a chunk of ice for the bears to ride upon, and then pushed them over the sea to the Land of Rainbow Lights.

The White Emperor Balanco and the White Empress Tiralina were so happy with the return of their children that they held a celebration for 3 days and nights. Urso promised to come back again, and the little bears returned to their forest flying on the backs of geese.
