Redwall: Cluny the Scourge
Once again Fremantle Home Entertainment, the group which has secured the rights to release Nelvana television shows in the UK, is releasing another Region 2 DVD containing episodes from Season One of the Redwall TV Series entitled Redwall: Cluny's Clowns.
The DVD, which appears to be only 1 disc, is scheduled for release on June 29, 2009.
The Amazon UK synopsis is as follows:
Brian Jacques's bestselling children's books spring to animated life in the PBS cartoon series REDWALL. Set during the Middle Ages, the series offers a mystical blend of adventure and fantasy in the tale of a shy young mouse who pursues his heroic destiny. After his village is destroyed by an evil rat warlord named Cluny the Scourge, the orphaned Matthias Mouse is taken in by the kindly monks of the Redwall Abbey, where he becomes a novice. But Matthias's peaceful life at Redwall is soon shattered by the reappearance of Cluny, who aims to ransack the abbey and enslave its inhabitants. The only object with the power to stop the rodent marauders is a magical sword owned by the abbey's legendary founder, Martin the Warrior. However we have also tracked down another synopsis from the British Video Association which gives us a bit more detail in terms of content:
Three more episodes in the animated series following the adventures of Matthias the Mouse, a novice at Redwall Abbey who must do all he can to save the abbey from the evil rogue Cluny the Scourge, a rat with a blade tied to his tail. Episodes are: 'Sparra's Kingdom', 'Cluny's Clowns' and 'High Standards'.
These episodes are 4, 5, and 6 of Season One, which directly follows Fremantle's previous Redwall DVD release last year, Redwall: Cluny the Scourge.
