Welcome to our Nelvana Redwall voice actor series, which I guess you could say unofficially started last year when we spoke with Tim Curry. In this video-based endeavor, we'll hear from several of the actors who contributed to Redwall's animated TV adaptation that aired nearly a quarter century ago.
Canadian voice actor John Stocker has worked in the industry for decades. He's known for voicing Beastly in The Care Bears, Toad in Super Mario Bros., and Grandpa Hino in Sailor Moon (which he also voice directed), among many, many other characters.
Stocker also voiced characters in all three seasons of the Nelvana Redwall series, including Brother Alf and Cheesethief in season one; Abbot Mordalfus, Threeclaws, Skan, the Old Rabbit, and a Guard in season two, and Cap'n Tramun Clogg, one of the primary villains in season three.
The Redwall Wiki recently asked Stocker about his experiences with Redwall. He discussed how he became involved with the show and his friendship with voice actor Chris Wiggins (Abbot Mortimer), told us how he invented the voice for Clogg, and provided critical advice and guidance for those looking to get into the highly competitive voice acting world.
In fact, Stocker cited Clogg as "one of [his] all-time favorites."
