We're back with another feature from one of the Nelvana Redwall TV Series voice actors!
Canadian actor Kristin Fairlie started her career as a youth, providing the voices of Young Babar in Babar: King of the Elephants and the titular Little Bear in Little Bear.
She's appeared in many TV series and movies, including You Might As Well Live, Gracie's Choice, Goosebumps, and more. Fairlie has also contributed voice work to the Star Wars Outlaws and Shuyan Saga video games.
When she was a kid, Fairlie portrayed Auma, Orlando the Axe's daughter, in Redwall Season 2, Mattimeo. She provided us with her memories of working on the show.
Of interest:
- Fairlie was asked to audition and read for Tess Churchmouse, Cornflower Fieldmouse, and Auma.
- She really enjoyed working with the other kid voice actors.
- She describes a bit more on how Tim Curry's lines were recorded and how exciting it was to be a part of something that he was involved with.
- Fairlie observes how the seriousness of the show's story and plot was helpful and applicable to later video game voice work.
- We also asked for her advice for anyone looking to get into voice acting.
Thank you so much for sharing, Kristin!
